The Life and Death Masks, Photographs
of the 16th President , Abraham Lincoln

We can't see the President in person, as he has been dead for over 130 years.  We can look at wonderful paintings, drawings and even actual photos, but the plaster masks produced in olden days, with Abraham Lincoln participating in at least three instances, make for the most realistic 3-D depiction of the President.

It may seem kind of grotesque to view the masks and the hand impressions, but we must remember that the President volunteered to go through the uncomfortable process to allow the artists to do the masks.

This Lincoln Web Activity is Planned to help you to understand the appearance of Abraham Lincoln, and to show how the terrible war he was in charge of, took a poll on his appearance and health.

These Links will take you to the death and life masks, photographs and sculptures of the President
