Go to the three activities and work through them to get a feel of what it would be like to be the President:
1. The President has his own special "song" called "Hail to the Chief." Listen to its' original form and then compare that to the other versions in these links. Decide which you think sounds best for a President making an entrance into a room or auditorium. Click these two sound links and listen up for your decision:
2. Go to the list of Presidents in the "Presidential Profiles" site; Select 5 Presidents (excluding the present President, Mr. Bush), and go to the Grolier resource that you like best to read about the Presidents you have chosen. Scan the articles to see what kind of information is provided. 3. Download the "Greatest President Comparison Chart (GPCC)" form and begin filling it in on the Presidents youo find the information. 4. Score the "GPCC" form to help make a near-objective listing of the Greatest President of the 5 chosen. This will make you think about the ominous responsibilities and performance requirements of a sitting President. 5. Design and make a campaign poster for the Greatest President from you GPCC form. Include a drawing of the man, as well as the high points that make him best for the country.
