Natural Disasters Student Hotlist and Work Assignment:

Weather Wiz Kids is a great site for information about all natural disasters.
Use the Hotlist of Natural Disaster Thinkquest Sites and answer the questions about a disaster that you and/or your group choose to study.  Present the information in an informational poster or brochure.  Write your answers in sentence form on paper.

Questions:
1.  Describe the season that the natural disaster might be most apt to occur (unless volcano or earthquake)

2.  Make a timeline to explain how the disaster "builds up" or happens, from beginning to final event.

3.  Describe how people can be warned of an impending natural disaster (forecasting).

4.  Describe how people can be prepared for a possible disaster.

5.  Name any agencies that can help in forecasting or aiding victims of such disasters.  How can they do what they do in forecasting and helping?

6.   List things people should have in a safe place in their home in case a disaster would hit.
