Hello,
I am Eddie. I am the second of the Lincoln boys. Robert is
the
oldest. Some say that I am a lot like Robert in size and
personality. I am old enough to remember when we moved to
Washington D.C.
when father was a U.S. Representative. I really like living in
Springfield. All of boys, except Robert, who is in school a lot
of the
time, get to play along our street with the other children. We
often take
Fido along to help us in our games. Us boys especially like to
shoot
marbles. I was too little to do much with the big boys, but they
let me
join in.
One time, when we all went down to Lexington, Kentucky, to visit with
our
grandparents and Mother's brothers and sisters, Robert found a kitten
and
brought it home. I loved that little kitten, and fed it till it
came back
to health. We almost lost the kitten, when a servant threatened
to throw
it outside. I screamed and protested about this, and the kitten
stayed.
I loved my parents, and brothers. Our house was a special
one.
Mother was a good cook, and we all loved her plain white cake, just
like
Father.
