NOWHERE
Where are you going? "Nowhere," I would answer SADLY, the old Bob Rupel Feed and Seed House, turned into the Nowhere in the 1960's, is now history. The City of Charleston is going to widen 4th Street at Van Buren, and the building was taken down early (October of 2007) to make room for the new wider street and intersection. The Rupel's used the building since the Nowhere left it for a semi-truck repair shop. Here are some photos that show the demolition project. I can remember painting the building white with red trim. WE STILL HAVE GREAT MEMORIES OF ALL THE ACTION AT 4TH AND VAN BUREN during the Nowhere Days! Howard Taylor
