Welcome to My Learning Activity
A Learning On-Line Learning Activity by Howard Taylor
INTRODUCTION:

This activity was planned for completion by 2nd Gifted Ed. students in Mr. Taylor's classes.  The objectives are set from "accelerated" curriculum and Bloom Taxonomy Questioning techniques. The activities within could be used at any elementary grade level above Second Grade.

The teacher of the 19th Century in the new "Western" states of Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois had quite a challenge.  After reading about their log buildings, short-term students such as the Lincoln children, and the lack of materials, it is amazing that anyone was actually able to read or do math.
Andrew Crawford, Azel W. Dorsey, and a man known as Sweeney were the very earliest teachers of the Lincoln children.

The purpose of the Teacher's Directions are not to help in discipline, but give teachers an idea how to organize a fun Lincoln Activity.

[Below is a photo of a structure said to be the Kentucky log school that Young Abraham Lincoln was supposed to have attended.  The school was located on the old Cumberland Trail Road in Kentucky.   This photo is from an Illinois Periodicals Online article from:  Illinois History ,
