Tips on Using This Activity in a Classroom:

This learning activity was designed to provide a very exciting story about America's first Medal of Honor winners, The Civil War, Georgia railroad history, and information about the TEXAS and GENERAL locomotives located at Atlanta and Kennesaw, respectively.

There are a variety of reading/research related activities and projects for students.  It would not be difficult to connect these activities to "standards" in reading, social studies, writing and even math.

I have provided an interactive map and my own simplified version of the story of the "Great Locomotive Chase of 1862"

More tips on this new and presently-being developed activity will be added in the next few days.  Return to see what is added.
