battles to be considered are these:
DIRECTIONS FOR DOING THIS BATTLE STUDY: 1. The purpose of this activity is to demonstrate the wide-spread nature of the Civil War, find out about its leaders, the importance for each opposing side, and the number of casualties. Another purpose of this activity is to find out which battlefields have been preserved, and why this is important. 2. Use an Internet Resource (from the Battles Hotlist) to find the answers about each battle. 3. For each battle, complete a table of data, available at: Civil War Battles Site. 4. The data table includes: Battle Name; Dates; Casualties (deaths) on both sides; Southern Leader; Northern Leader; Location; Results & Significance. 5. Find Civil War National Battlefield and cemeteries using Internet resources, and/or book resources, and list them, with any special descriptive details. 6. Write a one-page essay why you think that Civil War Battlefields should be preserved. RESOURCES
